Proprietor of PurStrands Salon, Master Stylist & Make-Up Artist
Bethany Bartlett-Tomko, a Cherryfield, Maine native, knew that she loved Hair and Fashion from an early age. Often becoming the go to consultant for her friends and family while growing up in the small town of Cherryfield. She graduated high school and attended college at the University of Maine, then went on to graduate Cosmetology School in Portland, Maine. With over 16 years in the industry, her journey to owning and creating Purstrands Salon started under the tutelage of the same mentor in Portland, ME for 12 years. Becoming a Master Goldwell colorist, and Hair extension guru while honing her craft. She moved to Florida to escape the cold, like so many do, and quickly became the manager of the Salon department at NSpa at the Delray Beach Marriott.
Bethany is a NPC fitness model, and regularly competes in her new home state of Florida, as well as a National Level. Her love for Hair, Fashion, Fitness and Health inspired both her and her Husband to create Purlife Fitness, Purstrands and most recently Purgreens Healthy Restaurant. Ultimately combining everything you need under one roof.
“My philosophy is… Healthy Hair starts with a great diet and exercise program. Then, with the help of a Spectacular Stylist to pull it all together, you will have the strength and confidence to take on the world….”
Bridgette Abare has always had a passion for hair. Stemming from a mother who owns a hair salon and is also a hairdresser, it was easy for her to grow up gaining much knowledge about the hair industry including her first French braid which was done on her horses tail. With some knowledge and great teachers the tale continues…
Most of her experience was gained from working alongside her mother in her salon and going to school, as well as having many great friends to practice on followed by many unhappy mothers (haha).
Practice makes for better because she believes that nothing is perfect, and that lead on to participating in events such as: local fashion shows, styling hair for shape magazine, doing make up for infomercials and taking on other events such as weddings and related events that allowed her to expand her creativity and keep building her dream.
Bridgette is personable and listens to her clients. She also believes that healthy hair is the best hair anyone can have. Therefore she does not believe in doing any service that would compromise the integrity of the hair and leave it looking any less. She strives to educate her clients in how to maintain healthy hair for future wear as well as giving them a look to make them feel they could take center stage.
For 14 years, Beth Cooper has dedicated her life to continuing education, specializing in color, precision hair cutting, and establishing a positive relationship with all of her guests. She grew up in the suburbs outside of Washington DC and has always had a knack for art and hair since the age of 4 years old.
Her career in the beauty industry started around 2003 in Boston, MA. There, she studied under talented platform artists and soon moved back to Maryland where she took her own place behind the chair. Through very hard work, rigorous continuing education, and true passion, she is now a master stylist and color specialist. Her goal is to give her guests a maintainable style suited to their lifestyle through a professional and comprehensive consultation.
“I consider hair and art a way of life. It is not just a career for those of us who have the passion, but an outlet in expressing creativity.”
